Hello everyone 🙂 I'm a big fan of sdn and couldn't think of a better resource to get an answer to my question!
Thanks in advance for the help.

I am currently an Environmental Sciences (natural and agricultural sciences) major, and considering a minor in Neurosciences. I apply to dental school next June, and the problem is in order to fit in my minor I may not be able to finish my Physics 2C lab until late summer - and that would be after I submit my application (i really want to submit my application by the end of June).

My real concerns lies in my belief that Environmental Sciences is commonly viewed as an "easy" major and without the minor, I may be seen as less competitive to other applicants who majored in Bio, Neuro ect. However, I don't know if not having some of the pre-reqs completed (even something as small as lab) would put me at a bigger disadvantage.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi.

All that matters is that you get your prereqs done by the time dental school starts. There are plenty of applicants who still have like 3-4 prereqs to finish by the time they apply, but they get it done by the time they matriculate. You should be fine.

Also, as a biomedical engineering major, I felt that my major was not weighted heavily as a reason for acceptance this cycle, so I wouldn't worry much about your own major. There are applicants who apply as non-science majors, but the reason why they still get in is because we all have to take the same prereqs, which help ensure that the rigor of your courseload stays challenging.

Good luck and keep playing tennis.
