I could not find a thread for MIS/Bariatrics and Advanced GI fellowships. I think it is about time to start this as interviews began coming in. We can track interview offers, general questions and answers.

Because the thread is moved to the residency application section, I guess it is not getting much attention as the Colorectal or the Vascular fellowship threads. Anyway there are 4 people applying from my program and What I post is in fact the invitations for 4 applicants.

Unfortunately most of the MIS programs do not send out regret or rejection emails due to huge applicant pool I guess. It is good to keep a track on what is out. Please keep this rolling.

Yes, it is a little nerve wrecking. I thought I am done with the suspense after residency applications, but the uncertainty goes on. Will update if I get some news.
 
I heard that most of the interviews invitations emails are sent after feb 16. Is that right?
 
I Have not heard anything for over a w eek now.

Adv GI MIS/Bariatric Fellowship Program at Shands at the University of Florida - withdrew from the match.

Remember, programs can offer interviews as late as March 20th!! - planning these interviews is a logistical nightmare.
 
I have called most programs I applied to andnot heard from. Almost all say that they are still reviewing applications and will decide after feb 16.

UCSF fresno, UW Madison, and Duke sent two batches of interviews. Hang in there...
 
Yeah, I have not heard from the majority of the programs I applied to (less than half). I'm not sure if that means rejections or if they are still going over apps. I haven't heard anything yet from Duke for example...

I suppose there is still time, the applications have not even closed yet and deadline to inform applicants of interviews is as late as March 20th!

I was advised against this. I was told that if I don't hear anything by the end of February, then call. I have to say, I'm having difficulty restraining myself!

I am kind of disappointed about not getting the mayo and cleveland clinic interrviews. Unfortunately did not get them. It looks like most of my programs have already sent invitations. For now I have to play the hand with 8.

I wonder if there is a magic number? As most programs have 1 spots you can fall pretty fast on the list if you are the second one ranked... It is kind of uncomfortable.

I feel like I'm in the same boat as many on this forum. I just heard from U of Nebraska. I've heard from 7 programs. NO rejections. Seems like it should be courtesy to send rejection and I think I would rather be rejected than show up and be nowhere in rank list. Out of curiosity, do you guys think when you submitted the application matters in terms of when you hear from these programs? I submitted my application on December 26th and recommendation letters slowly trickled in(last one came in yesterday haha).
