Missed my MCAT. Do I need to contact AAMC?

I was supposed to take the test today but I was stupid and couldn't find the test center in time. The positive is I wasn't scoring too well on my practice tests so I'd like to prep this summer and reschedule for August.

My question though is if you miss a test date, do I need to contact AAMC to cancel the test or will they do that automatically since I didn't show up? I don't want a 0 to show up on my transcript sent to med schools. I'm looking on AAMC for the info but I'm guessing this doesn't happen too often.

Also when will their site start letting look for a new test date? I looked right now and it says I'm registered for today and doesn't let me select a new test date.

it won't count as you having taken the test. i read that somewhere. only if you show up and begin the test will it count as you having taken the test. since you didn't show up, you are fine. but to double check, i would contact AAMC to make sure. hope that helped. Also, you can register for a new one starting tomorrow (24 hours after you were supposed to take the test). you can't do it today.

You don't have to contact anyone. I had somewhat of a similar issue a few weeks ago where I didn't show up for the test on purpose because I wasn't ready. You will have to reschedule and pay the whole fee again though. It won't be available for you to register for another two days. Some things happen for a reason. Don't get too bummed out and think of it as something that might have saved your butt. Best of luck
