Can anyone tell me the IS stats?? I have seen a few posts regarding the number of OOS that apply vs. getting accepted. Any idea how many spots are in state that they fill? I know that they have a class size of around 110 and I am assuming they accept around 66 or 70 IS.. just curios how many apply for those spots.

Sorry, I don't have any idea how many interviews they hand out for IS. However, i'm assuming the rate of students accepting their acceptance (if that makes any sense) is much higher than for OOSers, so they probably don't accept as high of a proportion of their interviewees as they do for OOS.

This may or may not be true, but while talking with the current students on my interview day, someone mentioned that Mizzou is heading towards about 50/50 for IS/OOS. Again, not sure if thats true, but if so, it would be more like 50-60 IS spots.
 
Who thinks the letters are coming tomorrow? I really hope they do, because I leave on Friday at the crack of dawn for another interview, and won't be back until Sunday night (just in time for the Superbowl). :xf:

im hoping for it as early as possible but i have a feeling it will be friday somehow..
 
Last year letters were received on the 5th, which was a Thursday.... So just maaaaaayyyybbeee (pretty pretty please) it will be tomorrow :xf: And then THAT way, they would be able to call us on Friday to make sure we got our letters, right? It's a stretch, I know 🙂

Last year, Mizzou acceptance was received in Massachusetts on the 6th, which was Friday. It was dated the 2nd, which was Monday.
 
I've come to realize this week how terrible I am at waiting. I'm a MA resident so I hope letters this year come by Friday; although I like how LoungingMarten is thinking about letters coming today! Maybe they mailed them on Monday 😀

I hope all of us SDN get an acceptance letter, that would be great!😍
 
So I'm thinking that for the first couple of people who get letters (be it today, tomorrow, Saturday or God forbid next week), make sure you post
1) what letter you got (obviously... haha)
2) when it was dated
3) what kind of envelope it was in
4) where you live

this will prevent the rest of us who are crazy like me from asking a million questions

does that sound good? don't judge me 😀

So, I finally worked up the nerve to call Kathy (I just want to know if they've at least been mailed)..because I seriously can't take this anymore..and I got her answering machine!! 😡 I of course didn't leave a message, sorry guys, I tried!

Just got my mail for the day, nothing 😡. On the other hand, my university's mail is usually a little behind, so I prob shouldn't even get my hopes up until some of you receive your letters..

Got a hold of Kathy! Decision letters were mailed yesterday around 2:00 pm! :xf: Good luck guys!


PS: I'm still annoyed that they can't just e-mail us.

I just got an email confirming that the letters have been sent!

Did everyone else get the same email?
 
That email scared the crap out of me. I was finally reading my VMRCVM email and I saw that one and truly, "not another one" went through my head. I did get into VM 😍, so, needless to say, another email of the same would be very welcome, now.
 
permanent address though? that sucksss since my parents are out of time until next weekend.. WHYYYY lol
 
Very nice of them to keep us in the loop - definitely makes the guessing and waiting a bit less stressful! 🙂
 
Ugh why couldn't they just tell us in the emails??? I'm pretty sure i listed my parents address for my permanent, and I hate when other people know before I do..

ME TOO! I e-mailed Kathy back and asked if we could find out over the phone. She said that she's sorry but the Dean is "funny" about decisions, and everyone will find out by the postal service. It's 2010 people! My one and only complaint about Missouri, let's update the decision process!!!
 
this is gonna be really awkward having my mom call me to tell me good or bad news...

it feels like I'm in middle school again and she is getting my report card mailed to her
 
Yea, about the permanent address thing- I had this vision of opening my mailbox, calmly (but excitedly) opening my (hopefully acceptance) letter, being the first to know for a little while, and then calling my parents to tell them the news... looks like they will be telling me the news :lame: Oh well, such is life 😉
 
So I was at Missouri for my interview on the last Sunday (1-17). My interview was at 2:45. I stayed for lunch. I wonder if I met any of you guys. My name's Jeremy. I was wearing a suit with a green button-up and tie. Did I meet any of you? 🙂

Not likely for me...I'm in Va so between distance and snow, I really doubt it will be in today...Maybe monday?
 
Just got today's mail, and it looks like nothing here in Pennsylvania. Maybe you folks with letters that have a shorter distance to travel will hear sooner.
 
To my horror..I realized that Monday is a holiday (President's Day). AHH! Let's all hope :xf: we get our letters tomorrow.
 
Hmm, Maryland is in a state of emergency, expecting around 30 inches in Baltimore. Don't think i'll be expecting my Missouri letter for a little while.

Actually, President's Day isn't until the 15th. You should see the Davis thread. I thought the same. 🙂

I'm in SE Iowa so the letter didn't have far to travel 😉

I haven't seen the letter yet, My husband read it to me over the phone. He said it was in a large yellow manilla envelope.

I told my parents that if it ends up at their house not to open it but to just send it down here by priority mail. Now I'll know though if they tell me it wasn't a manilla envelop that I didn't make it 🙁

I'll give the basic run down...

GPA 3.92
GRE V: 530 Q: 780 W: 5.0

A couple hundred hours of shelter/small animal, pretty much no LA, and a hundred of research

so basically good grades and scores but below average experience overall
