Congratulations, guys! Oh, this thread brings back memories...

As for how many OOS students they interview vs. accept, I'm not sure on that one and you might want to contact Kathy Seay (the nicest woman you will EVER meet) about it. What I can tell you, though, is that they increased our class size last cycle to include 40+ OOS students (up from 20 originally), where they only interviewed 88, and they did pull some of the accepted OOS students we have now from a waitlist of people who weren't interviewed at all. I'm not sure how it'll work this year, but I assume they'll interview more people since they know they have more spots to fill. Just a guess, though!

And, for those of you who haven't gotten an interview invitation yet and are watching this thread like a hawk in between checking your email, I feel it's only fair to let you know that, in the last cycle, Mizzou did send out interview invitations in waves for OOS students and not all at once, so don't worry just yet, as easy as it is to do so. Hang in there!

If anyone has any questions about hotels or taxis or being an OOS student in general, feel free to ask! We have 3 exams this week and finals are coming up, so answers might take a while, but I'd love to help you if you need it. 🙂

I think we are neighbors (in the bottom of the pile). I am hoping that I could still possibly receive an email. I had felt so GOOD about my application there. GETTING ON THE HOPE WAGON AND NOT GETTING OFF UNTIL I SEE A REJECTION.

Looks like most interview invites went out within 2 days of each other (as represented on SDN) but one went out nearly two weeks later. So, there you have it - no freaking out allowed.

Shoot I check beyond midnight into the wee hours of the morning til I go to bed. After all, sometimes e-mail gets delayed due to farks in the system and misalignment of the moon.

I'll definitely have some questions about the best options for hotel/transportation. I looked at the info document they sent out with the interview invite, and there were so many different options!

Just curious, for anyone that's living in, or knows alot about Columbia, what is it like over there? Is it basically your typical college town? Do you like it?

This is my 10th year of Mizzou and while I'm excited to leave in a year and a half, I am also going to be a bit sad. It's got most of the decent sized city stuff (mall, numerous movie theaters including a great art house one downtown, if that's your thing) plus lots of outdoorsy stuff (tons of trails within 15-20 minute drive, many within the city), getting more bike friendly, housing is really quite cheap (a 1 bedroom is pretty easily found for $400ish a month) and if you want to buy, we bought a nice little 3 bedroom for 115K a couple years ago. Let me know if you are interested in a realtor. It's a college town for sure, but it's also very much its own city. The town doesn't die during the summer or anything. Anyways, if you have any more questions, let me know. I've been around a while. 😀

I got mine at 3:07 lol.. good old mac mail updating every 1 minute, makes life much much easier. not going to lie though, was totally shocked because i am OOS and only have an 1130 GRE, but my experiences are extremely diverse so i am guessing that they are interested in those. also, i didn't submit my application until like an hour before it closed, nothing like procrastinating.

I think I'm flying in the evening of the 8th and flying out the morning of the 10th through STL, as I don't trust puddle jumper flights. Anyone with an interview on the 9th who is planning the same want to split a rental car from STL and hotel room in Columbia with a random poor stranger off the internet?

My email came in at 3:18 pm. Don't know whether this stuff means anything, but i'm an OOS'er, with below average experience, only 200 hrs in a vet clinic (but alot of research in genetics), and high numbers (3.85 GPA, 1480 GRE).

yes, i called them yesterday to check if we had to arrive at a certain time regardless of our interview. (answer was no!) but interviews are less than 15 minutes apparently then followed by a tour. lunch is from 11:30-12:30 which is optional if you wish to attend but there will be current vet students and faculty to talk to and such while you are eating.

So they didn't give you a specific time to check in? I didn't choose a date yet becuase I want to make sure I can get plane tickets first. Maybe once you pick a date for the interview they will give more specific information.

well on the website where you sign up for interviews there are 180 available spots to sign up for times to go in. i just checked right now and there are about 50 remaining, so at least 130 invites were sent out and those people selected interview times already. but i also heard from people last year they did it in waves, so who knows.
