i realized i misspelled the name of an award i got from my chemistry department 🙁 do you think adcoms check awards that are school-specific? they'll definitely realized i misspelled it if they do

Probably not unless its some nationally known award. Most schools do due-diligence for AMCAS activities when you are accepted, so they may realize it then. But at that point, I don't think misspelling something will make a school rescind an acceptance.

No one will care about correct spelling of a school-specific award.
