Pardon the pun, couldn't help it.

I submitted my FAP application today, but after submitting it I realized I made two mistakes:

1) I accidentally wrote the wrong figure down in the app. It's over the actual figure by about $500

2) I wrote a different "Parent's Name" down on the application than what is on the W-2 form. I wrote my dad's name when my mom's name is on the W-2 Form (still married).

I had my both my parents sign the Cover Letter. Has anyone else made this mistake before? Any experience with this? Kicking myself for being so careless.. I'm wondering if I should email them now and point out the mistake or just let them figure it out.

I wish there was another name you could use instead of "FAP app". I chuckle every time.

No laughing allowed for pre-meds. Serious business here.

Are YOU joking or serious? In the big scheme of things, your last few mistakes aren't a big deal. Incorrectly reporting figures CAN be a big deal, but you went in the "opposite" direction of the one that would raise flags--meaning you overreported instead of underreported your income.

I'd email them just to make sure, but for future reference, try to follow directions more closely. I know you were probably antsy about submitting it, but it's important not to mess up these kinds of things.

Yes I was joking. I guess sarcasm doesn't go across well in pre-med forums.

I emailed them and they said to submit a letter with all my documents explaining the mistake.

You can just e-mail them, it's no big deal. I had the entire wrong information because I submitted in January and they wanted the tax info from the new tax year. Of course, that wasn't available for a few months so I had to wait. I e-mailed them and let them know, and also faxed a typed (and signed by hand) letter from me explaining. GL

Man, two FAP threads in one day. Pretty sure even after you email your corrections they are going to tell you that you
