I've had this ADC Adscope 603 as an EMT for a couple years and it works great for BP and everything, but do you think it's necessary to upgrade to a cardiology-type one for med school?

How do you think my ADC stacks up to the Cardio III or Harvey, should I put my old one on ebay?

What specifically will I be learning that will justify having a nicer 'scope?

My hearing is a little below average if that makes a difference. Thanks

just keep it if you can hear most things. The only things that would be hard for you to hear are S3's (which i can't always here with my fancy schmancy Litt III), possibly S4's, and level 1/6 murmurs. If you can hear decreased breath sounds, level 2/6 murmurs, and crackles, you're good.

Forget about the hearing - I would replace it for the simple fact that it's disgusting.

You should probably upgrade to the cardio III or Harvey, especially if your hearing is a bit below average. My friend who's just a year into his family practice says it's a worthwhile investment which will help you in your learning process (imagine if your professor gives you some faint sound to listen to and you can't hear it well because of your scope...).
Having said that, it may be worthwhile to keep your old one as a backup.
