What's MOCA blue?

I've never seen it, but I'm guessing it's similar to Big Blue.
👍
I'd like to hear from someone who has used it but I doubt many here have used it since this tends to be a younger audience on this forum.

I was just planning on reading Miller and Barash again.😱
The MOCA Blue was similiar to the Big Blue I read 10 + yrs ago, but updated....I didn't care about $ , after being traumatized by the exam system after training. I trained in an old school 100 hr/ week system, no board prep lectures, no reading time, just sit in the room for 24 hrs/day, so I had alot of ground to make up with the books to get certified..Niels Jensen's courses are a great motivator and his materials are well organized.

I bought big blue for my writtens and after reading the notes I found them to be incomplete. there were typos all over the place gramatical errors. It was painful reading. So i switched to other types of studying questions referencing text books I passed. So I dont think i would go with moca blue to be honest.. i have a few years. I will enlist other people for their advice. I personally think this recertification thing is suck CRAP. Just another revenue generating avenue.
I can't use Jensen because of things like this...
"You are the Warrior. Your horse is education, training, skill, and dedication. MOCA Blue is your focus, your spear to slay the Dragon of Boards!"

Mmmm, some coffee by the campfire is missing from my life lately. I'm a Ranger! Or something.I can't use Jensen because of things like this...

The fact that a book, the sim, and the exam are around $5k is really obscene.
Anyone want to write an "Anesthesia Cognitive Exam" with me.
It's not board certification, but we can throw some big academic titles behind it and market it as an alternative for places/folks that don't require board certification but want to test themselves. I bet we can do it for 10% of the ABA.

Wow - Jensen just cashes in at every turn. I had no idea he has a MOCA book too.
Whats the difference between big blue and MOCA blue? Seems like the same material.

I took moca last July. Just do ace questions and review some old Jensen blue notes (if u have them). The questions on moca are less intensive than ace questions.
Everyone I know who has take moca has passed. I think passing rates for first time is like 92% and 88% overall
I don't know anyone who failed the MOCA either. But I'll happily drop a couple grand for a pep talk on top of 2 grand for the test and don't forget that $$im.

Heh... yeah, that, and don't get me started on Jensen's 'interesting' views on the first-sale doctrine. (You know, the "you can't resell this book" part.)

I don't think I would never pay money for any of Jensens material anyway. I have seen some of his stuff and feel like it's outdated. I was just curious what the difference was between the two - really the material should be the same, right?
Luckily, I'm 7-8 years away from having to take that exam. It just never ends ….
I think the test and sim are a total scam.
Make a q 5 year self eval, home computer exam to ID deficits, q 5yr partner chart review. That might actually help.

Just filled out the MOCA evaluation from the email survey they sent me (I recommend everyone here does so as well). Let's just say I wasn't too friendly about the Simulation scam or the test. Just because they CAN impose their will with threat of no longer being board certified does not make it appropriate and hopefully one day they will listen.
Are you all honest when filling out the ABA surveys about MOCA
Yes, to a point of being quite blunt about it.
I do hope that everyone here supports the AAPS, which is behind the lawsuit against MOC. Bureaucracy isn't going to shrink itself, no matter how many times we ask it to, but a court order against the MOC scam might have some effect.
