Hi all,

I just found out that I have a mock interview with a med school in a few days. I know it serves as a "practice" for the real deal. However, I am super nervous and was wondering if anyone has any pointers. What should I expect? To my knowledge, which isn't much these days, it is blind. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

THINK before you speak (it's okay not to answer right away.. pose a thoughtful pose though 😛 ).

Try to ennunciate each word.

MAKE EYE CONTACT! (but don't stare them down)

Try to answer the question (don't wander off telling a story and then forget your point)

Your accent. Not cultural or language accent, more of the educated versus not. The way a person speaks is a good indication of their education. NOT ALWAYS, I have to add before someone flames me.. the poor person may have an impediment/highly nervous.. etc. But it does set an impression if you start sounding like thug. So don't be lazy with your words, make the effort to mouth them out correctly.

It also helps if you get excited about answering questions. Show some enthusiasm as opposed to trying to answer like you're a thoughtful philosopher.

aint nothing wrong flowin like a thug bro...

thugmd 😉

haha

oh yay...ive gone over the 500 post mark.

break out the bubbly boys...

but yeah i didnt know med schools did this.

thats cool tho.

ill repeat the enthusiasm bit above.

beeee excited that you are there and be honest in your answers.

be nice if you knew some medically related issues and stuff too...

that never hurts.

and most importantly...avoid the words pimp and ho.

How long does it take to get a mock acceptance after the interview?
