Hey,
I read that x-gal (which expresses beta-gal) is often used to determine whether plasmids has successfully taken up foreign genetic material. So can this be used to see if a bacteria has taken up a certain gene.
Why might this be important and how would this be helpful in molecular biology labs?
Thanks
