This may be a stupid question, but how can you determine the number of introns a gene has? Thanks in advance for you help!!!!!

Sequence cDNA that's derived from the mRNA of the gene in question and compare it to the genomic sequence. Depending on the organism, one might also be able to search for conserved splicing sites, although that is much less reliable.
