So my understanding is that on Monday we receive an email stating whether we matched or not....

If we applied to both advanced and preliminary and catagorical positions does it differentiate in the email such as if you matched to a catagorical saying "congrats you matched" and if advanced stating "congrats you matched to advanced and premilinary"????

I just know that its taking way too long to find out... I cannot get this isht off of my mind! This is NOT fun! I just want to know already!!

As I understand you get a "Congrats you matched" if you matched categorical or advanced and prelim. They don't distinguish on the message so the student won't be able to draw any conclusions. 🙂

Word. I just tried checking the NRMP website again after reading that (even though I checked at least 10 times since rank lists were due), and the R3 system will be down until 6PM today...bad timing!

Seriously bro...I had a small panic attack when I read that today. Like you I checked and rechecked a thousand times, but still worry incessantly that I screwed something up.

I was hoping there would be a difference between the categorical and advanced match messages, since my first 2 choices were advanced, and all the rest were categorical, and I don't want to wait till next Thursday if I could narrow it down on Monday.

Wierdest thing is all of our anticipation will simply be a distant memory come Thursday evening, except those who get so drunk they don't remember where they matched and have to look it up all over again.

I have been doing a fairly good job recently (better than right after 2/25/09) of intentionally forgetting about the Match, Black Monday, etc...until it's brought up every 1-2 hrs on the wards and I come visit SDN 😀
