Hi, I finished two years of preliminary general surgery, and while in between things and trying to reapply or find open categorical spots, it'd be great to make additional income and keep training. Does anyone know of hospitals in the Raleigh/Durham area (or further out too) where I could moonlight? The websites that I've found so far seem to be more for board certified folks. Would it be useful to try to go for NP/PA jobs?

Thanks,

Do you have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of NC?

Do you have a DEA #?

Without the above, I'd venture no MD/DO jobs will be open to you.

With an unrestricted license, you can moonlight in the ED at many VA hospitals. There are few places that will hire you as a surgeon.

Thanks,

No. You have not mentioned being licensed as an NP/PA, therefore, you are not eligible for these jobs. The training and skill set are different.
