How does moonlighting work during anesthesiology residency? Any details such as what years, opportunities, pay, etc. would be great.

That varies widely between programs. Our offers in house moonlighting on our OB floor as the person responsible for spinal anesthetics for tubal ligations, and we offer moonlighting for pager call for St. Paul general.
You can also moonlight at the VA ER and at smaller community hospitals doing ER work or as an emergency airway specialist on call for codes.
Understand that all hours worked on moonlighting count toward the 80 hour work week and if you violate it, the chairman and/or PD will have a long discussion with you.
