More good times in pre-allo

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I posted a definitive reply. 😉

I love preallo. I think personally there should be some kind of amnesty for anyone who trolls there.

I love those trolls who keep the idea that we are the most socially inept people in the medical profession alive. I can't wait til they get to some point in their career where they actually rely on what the bx results are before treating a patient. Then I'll be like "Booyah biatch!, Pathology pwns!"

I make it a point of starting to silently rock back and forth in my chair and hum patriotic hymns whenever a clinician enters the room.

Oh no, the omnicient Law2Doc has arrived.

You mean "Oh yes, thank God he is here."

I should post something about how I have never met anyone who went to law school who wasn't a selfish prig. And I have met several lawyers so that means it's valid!

aw come on yaah - you mean you haven't met a single decent lawyer in all your days? now i'm not one to defend lawyers, but a few of my buddies from undergrad went onto law school, and most of them are all right.

now if you're specifically talking about the ambulance-chasing bastards who advertise on the radio to "call us if you've been injured"... those guys i wouldn't hit the brakes for if i saw them crossing the street.

I think his comment was TIC.

Except my brother of course. He's a securities lawyer and an awesome guy. But true you have never met him so he doesn't count. 😉

Yeah. Just imagine, preallo is the stuff a significant number of doctors are made of. 😉

I was at a dinner on the weekend. "You know all the stupid behaviour you've encountered all your life? Well, it's exactly the same with doctors!"

I was just proud to see yaah and co sticking up for Pathology. Does it bother anyone else when people don't capitalize Path when they're referencing the field of Pathology? I'm sure it's something I've done myself but for some reason I noticed it over in that pre-allo thread and in that context it irritates me.

i'm not bothered by that kind of stuff - pathology = Pathology = PATHOLOGY. i do find it funny when people in other field get their panties in a bunch if you don't capitalize their specialty. i can assure anyone who cares that my contempt for most surgeons exists where i ask for a "surgery consult" or a "Surgery consult".

Please let and or encourage people to bash Pathology. I often play Eeyore and honestly we all should.

Okay, here is our outward appearence:

Ummmmm....is pathology really supposed to be capitalized? I kinda don't think so. "The Pathology Department at School X" would be capitalized, but I don't think a field of medicine is supposed to be capitalized.
I was an engineer in college though and got an M on the writing sample (and english IS my first language), so take that with a grain of salt. Experts?

To be honest, I don't care one whit about it. Capitalize it, don't capitalize it, who cares? Normally I am fairly rigid about grammar and punctuation rules when I am involved in reports or presentations or whatever, but whether "pathology" is capitalized or not, I neither know nor care.

My gut is it is not capitalized. When people ask me what I do, I say "pathology resident." To me "Pathology resident" looks like of weird.

Agree with the earlier poster that if you're being super formal and saying I'm in the "Dept at Pathology at Univ X" then you would capitalize it. Otherwise, I don't think so.
