I'm sure these questions have been asked millions of times, but perhaps you guys can help answer them just once more.
I understand the differences between the osteopathic and allopathic match, however I am not sure what exactly happens prior to the matches. Are there set residencies at specific hospitals that exist every single year? You apply to these residencies like you would apply to a medical school and then they interview you? And then on match day you can only rank places that you interviewed at? Also, lets say there are like 5 different specialties that you would be willing to work in, however location is your primary concern. Can you apply and interview at all different hospitals for all different specialties? Perhaps even interviewing at the same hospital for two different residencies? And then on match day you choose all of these different residency spots for all different specialties? Thanks guys 👍 👍
