Parkland to Withhold Safety Report

Their independent safety report apparently might open them up to additional lawsuits, so they reversed their plans announced last month to release it.

Not to be melodramatic about it, but I recall a certain underperforming LA county hospital being shut down - considering they're already under federal oversight as a condition of continued CMS funding - so it's not necessarily a stretch.

So, what's actually going on up there?

It doubt anyone with direct knowledge can or will talk about it here. And it hasn't been brought up in any open sessions at TMA or TCEP.

patients keep on rolling in, that's for sure. pretty sure those numbers dont include the OBGYN ER or the Fast Track/Urgent Care Clinic when people go there directly and skip triage [at least half the time]

We had 110 in our waiting room the other day, with >50% of our 70-odd ED beds housing boarders waiting for admission and the inpatient services bed-capped.

I guess I'm more qualified to run an ED obs service than I used to be.
