Hey guys! Sooo I'm going nuts here bc I was complete at Morehouse early November. I got that dreaded "hold" email early Feb. I sent a letter of interest via email to Dr. Roaf a week later and got NO response (not even the "noted" thing. heh). and then this morning, I got a voicemail from him! I called him back but he didn't answer 🙁 What do you think!?!? Interview invite?!?! OMG that would make my day!! But I dont want to get my hopes up bc I didn't get an email interview invite (which it seems others got) and it's so late in the process. Maybe he's just calling to discuss my app or somethin. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow...uh. I hate waiting!

Soooo?? did you call? What did he say? Now I'm wondering if getting the "Noted" a bad thing?? I've been debating about sending him another email to ask to talk (about what? whatever, the weather, sports, my app). Note to self - keep phone on high volume while at work. He said there MIGHT be another spot opening up (I guess someone didn't confirm whether or not he/she is going to be at this particular interview date) so there's a small chance I could still be invited. He said he'd call me back tomorrow with more information. And when I do talk to him, I'll ask 1. when they interview until 2. if they've finished scheduling all interviews and 3. if people are interviewing for waitlist spots at this point. Heh any other info yall wanna know that I should ask about? Hope this helps/gives some ppl some sort of hope. It's not over yet guys!!

I received that email too and the link didn't work but if you go to their website under fin. aid and on the right hand side click apply for aid the link works and you can log into the application.

congrats!!!!! that is exciting....

well if i remember correctly... i got there i think around 10 ...u can get there a little early and sit in on a class which is cool because during and after the class the students will come up and chat with you... then dr roaf came and took us to another room...we had a session with him...what is morehouse like...financial aid type things, talked to students, asked questions...i think we then went on a tour and back to a class for a little bit...with instructions to be back in the main room for lunch...for lunch i think it was our questions and answer time with the students and maybe dr roaf again...then we went to our interview (they came to pick us up or dr roaf took us to them)...and then we went home....i remember it was really hot ...but a great day... everyone i spoke to said they just had conversations with their interviewers not very stressful at all!!! good luck!!!

Congrats. I'm in the same shoes. Morehouse is on my top three list. What I'm using to make my final decision is curriculum and financial aid. I'm already in debt and am trying to reduce the amount of loans I can get. Hopefully, a scholarship will come. What other schools are you looking at?

The person who answered the phone said that letters are being sent out in the next few weeks....but when I said that I haven't interviewed yet he gave me the same answer and said that an intervew offer could come by postal mail or email (is that correct??). When I was there, I believe he said that last Friday was the last interview day. But one of my friends emailed Morehouse a few weeks ago, asking when they interview until, and he got a response saying they interview until March. So I could very well have misheard or misunderstood him so if anyone can verify that, that'd be helpful. If they aren't done interviewing, then have no fear. He said there are still acceptances going out and that people interviewing this late aren't just interviewing for a waitlist spot. SO who knows. I'm supposed to hear back sometime next week. Let the anxious waiting begin....

Thanks aaj! I'm hopeful, but trying to be proactive where I can. I guess I'm hopeful for the best, but preparing for the worst. I've got my plan B's rolling, which partially include going to the SNMA conference in a few weeks. It will be a good opportunity to meet with admissions officers again, and help remind them of who I am...at least for HU since they will likely be the only school still interviewing at that time. The other schools it's still a good idea since the AMCAS application opens in May this year which is crazy early! Needless to say if I have to reapply maybe I can take advantage of the whole primacy/recency thing. I'm applying to some SMPs and postbac programs, and attending as many open houses as I humanly can so hopefully somewhere in there this will all work out.

Thanks for the info about Dr. Roaf, I emailed him last week so not too long ago, just longer than normal. And as they say I die a little with each passing day. The good news about that is with a new year comes new life...although I won't mind if someone resuscitates my app for this year 😉

thanks for the update. I saw from last years threads the interviews ended in the begining/middle of march, so they probably aren't offering many more interviews or will do so very shortly then stop. Good news about there still being openings for the class this year. I'm sure you did great on your interview! I'll be praying for ya!

i got my rejection letter from morehouse today. i was def. surprised. i am well above the gpa and mcat averages for the school and i have strong ec's, but the class is only 52 people, so it's def. competitive to get in. i'm still trying to have faith though, best of luck to those still waiting to hear back!

that's good news - apparently, they only send fin aid infor to people they accept or alternate, so it sounds like it's not going to be a rejection. 😀

Just wondering to see if any of y'all have gotten off the Alternate List? I interviewed on 10/19 and was waitlisted 2 months later. I've already sent a few LOI's and I fear that anymore will just annoy Dr. Roaf.

Do you guys know how the Alternate List works? It says its unranked, but if thats true then how do they decide? I would appreciate any info at all you guys have heard...
