P. 62 of FA2012 says Moro reflex disappears "birth - 3 months."

Anyway, I just got a Kaplan QBank question that asked about when the Moro reflex disappears. The answers were:

A) at 1 month
B) at 5 months
C) at 8 months
D) at 12 months
E) Never

I put choice A specifically because I remembered FA. The answer was B. In their explanation, they say the Moro reflex disappears at 3-6 months. Then they say the palmar reflex disappears at 1-2 months for choice A.

Does anyone have any input here? In other words, who's wrong? FA or Kaplan?

According to GT, the Moro reflex disappears at 4 months. That would make B the right answer based on a combination of the Qbank and GT. What FA should say, to be more accurate, is that the Moro reflex exists between birth - 3 months, and then begins to disappear.

my 2011 first aid says 3 months so i would've put B.

Like they said, it exists from birth to about 4 months (I'm rotating Pediatrics now)

The answer is B

Has anyone ever actually seen a primitive reflex extinction as a way to test developmental age as a question on STEP 1?

It's something you will definitely see on the pediatrics clerkship NBME. Seems a bit out of place for this exam.

I've seen several of these types of questions among practice sources so far. However that's one of the first ones I've encountered that blatantly disagrees with FA.
