I heard that the med students at Northwestern are all eerily good-looking...

So just wondering...which medical school do you think has the most attractive students? 😍

What about the ugliest? :scared:

I got an interview coming up there. I'll verify if the information is correct.

I did see alot of hot chicks at Mount Sinai. USF also has alot of good looking girls.

Syracuse had a lot of good looking people

1% of med students (guys or girls) are attractive....but then again some people have a more generous definition of attractive....

My school had a lot of attractive girls, and me of course 😉

Columbia seemed to have a significant number of attractive people....though I have to admit that I performed no statistics and don't have a p-value less than .05.

columbia does have some hot chicks. some of them are bytches though. i interact with a number of them everyday... there are a lot i like... and a good number that are just complete *****. the second years (For the most part) tend to be much cooler here than the 1st... but, even some of them are whack.

I vote for wherever seaworthc goes to school.

someone cares?

Finding an attractive girl in med school is harder than finding a virgin working in a brothel.

My vote goes to Mount Sinai. Is it the City? 😀

I was impressed by the student bodies at Mayo. Almost every girl I saw there, including the other applicants, was pretty cute. Of course, they're all getting married and having children because there's nothing better to do in Rochester, MN.

Edit: I second what relatively prime said about Duke. From what I saw and understand from SDN, their student body is pretty young and attractive. I didn't really notice Northwestern so much. Then again, at certain schools (Northwestern/UPenn) I only remember going around with asian girls. Nothing against asian girls, but I like fair skinned euro girls (note: I'm not even fair skinned... Whatever).

Hey fellas -
I am reading a lot here about the "cute chicks" - well, I saw a lot of lame-o guys around in my interviews, but Columbia definitely had the cutest ones.

😍

Cincinnati had a surprising number of hot girls. Many wore rocks, tho...

This is such a myth... with the exception of maybe OSU... 90% of med school students I met were at least attractive if not gorgeous... especially some of the people at Duke. Also, they're all thin... I think of the 100s I saw... maybe 2 or 3 were a bit chubby.

Of course... maybe the admissions offices make sure that only attractice people give tours and talk to students. 😉

Sorry, gonna have to disagree with you there. Maybe we have different ideas on what "attractive" is. Sure a med school girl may be attractive when COMPARED to other med school girls, but compared to the population as a whole, most med school girls are mostly average. Sure there are a few hotties here and there, but in no way on this green earth are "90% of med students attractive if not gorgeous" as you claim they are...unless you have very low expectations of what attractive is. And there are very few "gorgeous" people in this world to begin with, let alone in med school. You can probably see a handful of "attractive" people walking around on any given day, but seldom do you find a gorgeous person who is absolutely stunning. Not even 90% of the elite models are attractive, let alone gorgeous...and somehow 90% of med students are??

pritzker gets the "most friggin ugly collection of girls" award
save this girl named jenny. she a hottie

U of Miami had some pretty attractive girls mixed in with some butterfaces. However, I feel like a nice tan can do wonders for someones looks!

so far from what i have seen my vote goes to sinai, i would also like to say hi to the PHAT indian chick from jersey that interviewed the same day as me, thanks for making my interview experience more fun 😀 Rock on sista.

With the exception of OSU?!?!?! I'm thinking about attending there in the fall...do they really have an unattractive student body? With 220 people, you'd think there would be some decent ones! Please help---give me your opinion (not that i'll base my decision on the attractiveness of the student body...but it'd be nice to know 😀

Not to rain on everyones "desperate for relationships" parade, but am I the only one who thinks its stupid to hook up with other med students in your own school? It's one thing to say yea, people at school X are overall good looking, but obviously some people will use this as a factor when choosing a school.

Come on, unless you are on a Caribbean island, there are millions of people all over the place to date. Here's my problem:

- you hook up with someone in your anatomy group, it lasts 2-3 weeks, then you're stuck working with them the rest of the semester.
- you hook up with someone in your class, things go really really bad, and suddenly you start hearing horrible rumors floating around the class (especially if you were sleeping together).

Med school politics can be worse than childish high school politics (ask any resident or MS), and as a general rule, I would refrain from dating someone else in the med school. It's very similar to dating someone in the office- bad bad move.

I know this thread isn't totally serious, but its merely a warning to those who are desperate enough to take "student body attractiveness" into consideration when choosing a school.

[/end rant]😉

Way to bring the gloom and doom mike...

two words

'junior attending' 😀

(I actually know someone who did this  )

I'd says DO schools have fine chicks. As a whole girls with lower stats are better looking.

The further south your go (important), and the less competative the school gets... the hotter the girls are.

Med schools are all competative, so the above rule pretty much applies to UG.

Just don't hook up with the cadaver!

I went to an all-male school, so when I visited my high school buddies at various schools, I was going crazy at how hot all the girls were at the other schools. Funny thing was, that's what all my other friends (from those other schools) said as well. Definitely a case of "the grass is alway greener on the other side" phenominon. Now that we're all heading off to med school, and have often been deprived from the opposite sex due to all the crazy stuff pre-meds do, we're all going amazed by the attractiveness of the people in the med schools we're looking at. That, and a fresh population always appears much hotter at first than after a year of being in that population Just my theory.

Wonderful. Just wonderful.

This is strangely insulting. Strange because so many words in it are misspelled. And insulting for obvious reasons. Hope I don't run into you at any of my interviews at damn good Southern schools.

Give me credit for being consistent when I misspell words.

'Competative' didn't look right when I was typing it, I have no idea why I went with it. And I could care less about the further/farther issue...

And please explain why this is insulting? If you are into girl-watchin' (which I imagine you aren't), take a stroll through the Rice campus and then compare that to a night at Texas Tech. Oh my.

I interviewed at Northwestern, I didn't see any stunners, the attractiveness of the student body was pretty normal from what I saw.

However, I must agree with whoever said Mayo. My host took me to a post-anatomy final party, and except for myself, I'd say everyone there was above-average or better, both the guys and the girls. And everyone I talked to was pretty young, a couple people had taken a year or two off from school, but that was about it. I didn't notice any rings, but I never really pick up on stuff like that anyway.

An earlier poster was beating on RP for saying lots of med students are very attractive or stunning. I'd probably agree that they're not, but it's an issue of relative words. So, how do you rank the attractiveness of a person of the opposite sex (or same sex, I guess if that's what you prefer)?

On the old 1-10 scale for me:

10 ~ I've seen about 3 in my life. This is a girl who walks by on the street and literally takes your breath away. No matter how cool you think you are, you have to turn and stare. This must be a person seen in real life. Someone on a TV or Movie screen or in a photo can not be a 10, by definition. This is a woman who is physically perfect. 10's are exceptionally rare.

9 ~ Still rare, but they exist. A truly beautiful person, conforming to your tastes in every way. If you're a bit shy it may be somewhat difficult to talk to a 9... She's that hot, and probably out of your league.

8 ~ Very very attractive, but still somewhat rare. My girlfriend is an 8, without bias, and I'm pretty darn lucky on that front. Any flaws in an 8 add to character and/or cuteness. An 8 will turn most heads when she walks into a room. With decent adult confidence, approaching an 8 shouldn't be too difficult. An 8 has her pick of most men.

7 ~ Attractive with a few flaws. A normal "hot" girl falls into the 7 range. There are a handfull of these girls at the med schools that I've visited. 7's have all the raw material physically to be very successful with many guys.

6 ~ Cute, very approachable, by no means a dog. A few more med school girls end up here

5 ~ Average. Several flaws, but not ugly. A good personality can be an amazing asset to a 5. About half of med school girls end up here.

4 ~ Well, we're getting pretty low on the scale. Friend material, even with a good personality. The bell curve is on the down slope here when it comes to med school girls.

3 ~ Damn, she better be one heck of a conversationalist, because she isn't much to look at. A physical relationship is out of the question.

2 ~ Tough to look at, but as a nice person you try not to avert your eyes too much if she comes up and starts talking to you.

1 ~ Is that really a girl?

This is just too funny.... I must have misunderstood my role as a pre-med pretty badly 😀

yeah, i doubt i'll be hooking up with girls in med school... for 2 reasons.

1- i probably won't get in
2- in the rare chance that i do get in... all the girls will find a way to band against me (as they always do)- and make up some rumor like how my right pinky is longer than my left... and every damn girl within 200 miles will hear this and think i'm a freak. but, its not true... my pinkies are symmetrical, and (in my opinion)- they're hot as sack. hot.

oh, and then everyone else will think i'm crazy. that's always fun.

I think I am VERY HOT...and I think I am gonna end up at northwestern. So there better be some very very very good looking guys there...otherwise, I dont know how I am gonna get thru med school😕 😕 😕

Aint that what Gigolos are for?

I've said this before and I will say it again - there were definitely a bunch of hot guys at Tulane. There was even a hot guy in my interview group.

Hmmmm...I also spotted some hotties at UCI.
And I have to agree with jalby, there were some cute chicks at USC.

And to whoever said that people use this as criteria for picking schools - i dont think anyone is doing that!

Fellas, don't fool yourselves. There are no hot beeyatches in med school. I haven't seen one yet. And if there are, and you mack them, then you are stuck seeing them everyday for who knows how long. Plus, chances are good they are all gunners anyway, hoping to get in your pants in exchange for notes and tuition $$. For this reason, I am determined to go to school in a city full of hotties yearnin' for a taste of this 😉...NY, CA, FL...Y'all know how I do it.

It's very possible that I have a generous definition of "attractive." I mean... I am from nothern Ohio. :scared: However, I still maintain that med school women are no less attractive on a whole than the non-med school women. ANd I still think that they are at least slightly more attractive than the average population.

I'd have to say that anybody in med school gets instant hot points, as intelligence is definitely hot. And there aren't too many dumb-dumbs in med school.

Last semester I was in a class, casually admiring a girl sitting in front of me, until she opened her mouth and proved that she was generally incapable of using the English language. Lack of intelligence is a definite turnoff for me, and for the vast majority of people, I would imagine.

couldnt agree more 😀

just a few comments:

a) intelligence = hot. looks are grand, but after awhile, you gotta start having conversations. quite honestly i've met some guys who i didnt find attractive at all who became gorgeous merely by sharing intelligent, witty banter

b) alot of people have advised me to date and make friends OUTSIDE of med school, if possible. who wants to hang around neurotic brainiacs all the time (myself discluded...i still dont know how i got in)?

c) screw you guys. i'm still on the hunt for a dreamy british drummer named Jack. (my name's Diane. mellencamp references galore, hot damn)

my two cents...

I prefer to date guys I know I will never see again if s**t hits the fan. Like someone posted earlier...it would suck if it only lasted a few weeks and you have to watch them start mackin on some chick after they gave you the fade.

It's less complicated that way. And besides, it's easier to keep your personal business "personal." Everyone in the whole darn school will know who you dated and when, if you were to date fellow students.

same with the tail man. things might get weird quick. As long as the undergrad crowd's around, you might as well tap that resource. It gives you a chance to be close to her, but when the time comes, you won't be running into eachother all the time.

it's like a finger pointing to the moon

Ahh...the voice of reason. It was, is, and will be a very valuable resource. 😉

You never know, my sister meet her husband while at SLU, so sometimes it can work. They understand what it was like to go threw premed, med applications, med school, the match, and residency. These traumatic experiences can bring people together, and people who never been threw this process will never fully appreciate.

There are hot guys in Texas. This state does it like no other. At my Southwestern interview, I met a guy that looks like nothing less than an Armani model. HOT. I know hot and smart guys getting into Baylor and Southwestern......so ladies, they do exist. And I would have to say that the girls here are equally beautiful. After all, lots come from the University of Texas at Austin, the school ranked by Playboy to have the hottest girls for two years in a row now.

Hook 'em.
