My 10 most common admissions on general medicine:
-Chest pain
-Pneumonia
-Acute renal failure secondary to (insert something here)
-Pyelonephritis
-Diabetic Ketoacidosis
-Gastrointestinal bleed (Vomiting blood, bright red blood per rectum, etc)
-Hypertensive Crisis (Urgency, Emergency)
-Diarrhea
-Pulmonary Embolism/Deep Vein Thrombosis
-Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease-Exacerbation
10 Common pages from nurses (that I can think of right now) :
-Patient X's blood glucose is (insert something ridiculously high or low here)
-Patient X has (chest pain, headache, back pain, abd pain)
-Patient X's blood pressure/heart rate is (insert something ridiculously high or low here)
-Patient X has had no urine output/BM for ___ hours/days
-Patient X is short of breath/pulse ox is low
-Patient X's family is here and would like to speak with you
-Patient X cannot fall asleep. Can he have something for this?
-Patient X is itching/has a new rash. Can he have something for this?
-Patient X came back from his procedure.Can you enter in a diet?
