I just wanted some opinions on what people thought were their most difficult pre-med classes.

It will probably depend on the professor, but for me, Biometry and Cell Structure and Function were the most difficult.

I think it really depends on the professor you get. I didn't think organic was that bad (just a lot of stuff to know) but physics will kick your ass if you get a hard professor.

depends on what you like and are good at....some people struggle with math (if your school requires calc) and some struggle with O-chem...some with physics....i would have to say o-chem was hardest for me because my professor didnt make it interesting and he made the tests impossible

It always depends on the prof. I loved O-Chem it has been my favorite class thus far. Both my prof were both synthetic guys also. They both had done some drug sythesis work so they always put that spin on it. I loved it. I am in genetics currently and it sucks, prof is awesome but is think my problem is short timers syndrome. Phy 2 absolutely blew, i hate that f**k**g class.

wow... ive taken 1st and second years of engineering physics, organic chem, and calc 1 through 3 plus diff eq .. so far my hardest class is genetics. i am thinking im going to have to really bust my butt in med school, because for the most my classes in undergrad were about UNDERSTANDING a concept and basically being able to apply that concept to new situations to solve a problem... this is a piece of cake. memorizing a lot of stuff is not too hard either... just memorizing a ton of small details becomes a pain for me. the genetics class i had was real big on this, and i think this is what medical school will be like...... oh well im up to the challenge..... bring it!!! hehe 😀

the toughest class ive had of all time was electro-mechanics. this class everyone was at like a 60% or less in the class, so the teacher had this huge curve. kills the class moral... we basically learned to apply a new system of math to non-linear problems, solve complex electrical engineering circuits, and setup a new matrix to find all unknowns to our now linerally modeled system. hmm... actually its harder than it sounds.... 😉 i got a lovely B..... my most cherished of B's.... i think this class was harder mostly because of the teacher. he was pretty young compared to the other profs like 27, got a phd from mit, had a 500,000 dollar military grant to study the electromechanics of navy subs, and liked to torment collegues with knowledge that he knew they didnt know...

Organic Chem for me also. Genetics was no piece of cake either.

I would say biochem was my most difficult class, because I had the professor who got off to seeing test avgs below 55%. sicko...

Every Physics and Chem class I took was misery from Day 1. Just not my thing.

My hardest was Embryology. But it was a 5 credit course with a lab 4 hours per week and was taught by the hardest Biology dept prof. Some how I got a B and was very happy to have that grade. Her 5 hour long final exam was a butt kicker.

Werd.

Do you like math?

If you so, you might have done better in physics & gen chem.

I don't do well in math, and am a visual person, so I did well in organic chemistry.

So I would say in a chemistry or physics class that is math based.

It used to be inorganic chemistry, but organic chemistry has now claimed the throne. So boring and our teacher doesn't relate it to anything. Plus it's contrasted with my physics class I'm also taking , that while hard, our teacher relates everything to everyday examples.

biochem is miserable. love learning the stuff but sooo much to memorize...nooo time!

Toughest Class material - Endocrinology taught by a prof that used to teach it at UCLA's medical school.

Toughest Class to go to - Bio 2 worst class ever, i hate environmental $hit.

Toughest class work load wise - Micro, learned more than any class i had. Was in lab about 20 hrs/wk though.

For me, it was my first Intro Bio course. It was all plant stuff (which I do not like) and the teacher was impossible. I think out of 300 there were about 5 As a few more Bs and almost all Cs and Ds. At my school, it has the highest fail and retake rate of any biology class.

physics! damn trajectories.

those were cool! imagining yourself as some sort of mortar firer guy... plot out the trajectory for the munitions... cool dood.. hehe... i even went on to write the basic code for an automated robot to detect birds and launch water ballons at them heeh... 😀

Organic Chemistry... +pissed+

Physics... +pissed+

Especially physics. The only tests I failed in both high school and college were physics tests. 😡
