I posted this in the DAT forum, but didn't really get any responses. Anyways, is the AA, TS or PAT the most important part of your DAT score. Also, how important is RC and QR? Thanks!

Depends who is looking at it...there are a number of schools that don't heavily weigh the PAT and a few that don't even look at it. The AA and TS are usually considered the most important scores...as for RC and QR, they seem to be less heavily considered than the science scores but are nevertheless important as they contribute to your overall AA score.

Each school weighs each score differently. For instance at UCLA, they look at your scores in this order: AA, TS, PAT, RC and the buck stops there. For UoP, they value both PAT and RC scores very highly (I bet they look at the RC score to weed out the Asian students  ).

But really, the PAT is the best section that correlates to how well you will perform in the clinic in d-school (however, some schools still think that its a silly section regardless of what the ADA says). The ADA published a handbook about this.

is this even a serious post? does it matter which is the most important? Arent you supposed to ace each section to best of your ability? cmon now...

We're not super human lol. Some of us are blind (see my PAT) and there are asians that can read 🙂 lol... it's all strategy when it comes to reading comp... more word search than reading comp actually.

I'm no expert but AA measures everything except PAT so I would tend to think this is the most important section.

in my opinion, science sections weigh more heavily than RC and QR.

Different schools weigh the sections differently...I'd venture to say that most follow this order

AA>TS>PA>RC>QR

Somewhere after PA I'd say they look at the individual science sections in this order BIO>GCHEM>OCHEM. gCHEM and Ochem are probably pretty close together.

Just a hunch.

Is the AA, TS or PAT more important? Also how important is the QR and RC? bottom line is that they are all equally important. you have to try and do well in all of them. the higher you score in each section the better are your chances of getting accepted. Its as simple as that so why should it matter which one is the most important? Now that i've broken it down for you Sirshagalot i hope you get it cuz it really cant get any simpler than this. ciao

Thanks for your input!
