Anyone familiar with Mt. Sinai North General, Mt Sinai Elmhurst, or Mount Sinai Cabrini? I cant seem to find any info on these programs b/c their websites are non-informative.

I would like to know as well. Anyone with any thoughts, opinions, experiences?

Cabrini was a nicely located, small, friendly community style hospital in the Gramercy section of Manhattan. It's also closed down due to Berger commission influence. Many considered it a diamond in the Manhattan rough.

North General and Elmhurst are considered lower-tier, workhorse programs. Less than optimal locations (approaching Harlem and in Queens, respectively), mostly foreign grads (not good or bad - just a fact). I've known people from both programs. The reviews are mixed. Nice affiliation with Mt. Sinai (if you like Mt. Sinai, which is another discussion).

Let's discuss... 🙂 What do you think of Mt. Sinai?

Of the mixed reviews for Elmhurst, what do the positive ones say? How's the quality of teaching?

Thanks!

I don't know a tremendous amount about either program. I have met some residents from both, however. Those from Elmhurst generally say that the population is diverse, with lots and lots of pathology. Calls are supposedly very difficult, with almost no chance of sleep or rest overnight.

They have an impressive amount of visits in their ED, more so than most Manhattan programs, I believe. I couldn't speak to the actual quality of the training from an academic perspective.

thnks for the info abt elmhurst mt sinai.. does anyone know how the interview day goes? do they ask any psych q? n do thy offer prematch? which visa do they offer? thnks in advance ...

Rule of the thumb - run away from a program that offers pre match.
Save yourself from the trauma that will last 4 years. All the best.
