Guess what friendly Pathologists? The medical center has been cited for running a scam and bilking EVERYONE! Obviously, we all know of my opinion regarding the organization and a number of their professionals but this goes well beyond my usual complaints. I have personally met Jagoda so I don't think he is some innocent bystander running the ER/ED department but that's just my musing. Anyway, just shameful all around and not at all surprising given what they are up to and capable of as an organization.

Actually, the pathology department here is not exactly up to snuff so to speak and I bet this story is reflective of their corruption.

Actually, the pathology department here is not exactly up to snuff so to speak and I bet this story is reflective of their corruption. They diagnosed James Gandolfini with precancerous thyroid lesion which we know is a bunch of bunk based on the commentary by Gandolfini (Late Gandolfini's explanation in a video endorsement of the hospital, start around 4 ish in the video ).

To what extend are random justifications of unnecessary operations being made by the pathology department not to mention their other serious and well-known problems. Their med mal cases are outrageous but somehow it all goes away for them as usual out of the courts and against the patients, mostly for all the wrong reasons that prevent evaluation of the data by the court because apparently the court doesn't want to know. I am sure most of the people filing claims did not want to know about the corruption, incompetence, and direct attacks on their well-being by an organization determined to make a profit at any cost.

IMO, this is no way to run public health interests and patient care. I guess we all know why billionaires should not be running public health interests or non-profit hospitals funded largely by medicare and medicaid because collecting free money by hook or crook is a race to the bottom. Gives people the monetary incentives to do the wrong thing because you will get results that allows trustees to profit along with the CEOs and Deans and what nots. I haven't heard anything negative about any other hospital system so I am guessing those are all above board. C. Icahn said that he doesn't know what goes on at an hospital that he donated most of his charitable monies to but he appoints people to the board from the streets of what and based on what criteria? http://www.cnbc.com/id/101468220 Of course, he is from the streets of entitled and privileged Queens that sustains itself on subjugating local communities. Frankly, the prospect of working for a non-profit like mt sinai hospital or mt sinai medical center is troubling because your success is not based on your abilities or qualifications.
