Hi all, super fortunate to have these options here. I'm leaning Sinai, but I loved Jeff too. Guess this is a good problem to have at least, and wanted to see what other people thought. Thanks!!
Sinai
Pros
-NYC, NYC, NYC
-Close to home (but so is Jeff)
-Lots of friends will be in NYC
-Had a great experience interview day, and really liked all the facilities
-Have heard that it's a very happy and supportive culture here
-CHEAP housing (Aron hall is an absolute steal) and most people will be living together
-Strong name recognition
-Strong research
-Focus is all on med students bc no undergrad
Cons
-Dunno about financial aid yet.
-Have heard of some issues with Sinai as a whole? But not sure how much it would affect med students
-Far from SO (but so is Jeff), but northeast (esp NYC) is where SO wants to be in the future
-Have heard Sinai takes a hit in residency evals due to FlexMed program but not sure if this is true or not
-2 year preclinical (Jeff is similar)
Jeff
Pros
-Beautiful part of Philly
-Close to home (just like Sinai)
-One of my favorite interview days. Students were amazing
-Fantastic in Ortho and Optho
-Like the large class size because it means more diverse group of people to meet and befriend
-Really strong clinical training
-Huge alumni and support network
-Probably the best student culture out of all my schools
Cons
-Dunno about financial aid yet.
-More expensive to live in Center City than Sinai's housing
-Far from SO (just like Sinai)
-Don't really know anyone living in Philly
-Research not as strong as Sinai
-2 year preclinical (Sinai similar)
-Not the biggest fan of Philly but Jeff is in a really good area though
