Hey guys, I'm a MS1. I have been doing well in my medical school classes thus far. However, I'm hoping to increase study efficiency. I'm still overwhelmed with the amount of available studying resources. I have been test-driving First Aid, Bros, Zanki, and Firecracker for the past 6 months. I found that Firecracker is comprehensive, but the flashcard questions and space-repetition software are horrible when compared to Zanki/Anki/Bros. However, when I'm doing Zanki Flashcards, I feel like I'm memorizing random facts, but am unable to see the overall/big picture. Is it advisable to read FC, but do Zanki questions? Or is it preferable to read FA + Class notes and just do Zanki cards? Do you guys recommend doing Zanki before/after completion of a block?

Have a Happy Holiday guys. 😀

I'm studying for step now and used firecracker from the beginning of M1. It was a very good decision for me personally. Have not used Zanki but FC+Uworld/Rx+Class notes wass a good combo for both class tests and for step. Good luck.

If you like flashcads/anki studying method, doing even 20~ zanki per day relevant to your system block can help (note: some zanki cards are super low yield so you can filter them out if you want because some system deck has 1k+ cards)

I personally liked FC because you can see the big picture. The spacing is adjustable.

Dedicate yourself to one method.

Doing two sets of flashcards is crazy. Pick whichever works better for you, despite the drawbacks. Fc, zanki, and bros will all work just fine.

I use bros and it's pointless if you're adding cards you haven't covered in class. Filter your cards and look things up if you don't see why it matters.

How do you adjust the spacing? Should I tag everything a 3 the first pass around?
