My question: What is the DO equivalent of the MSAR?

More info on my question:

I did use the search function, and this was the most useful thread i could find:

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=495999

But all that thread got me was a link to the CIB, which i already had. And im looking for stats which the CIB doesnt have.

The CIB is useful to know the hard set requirements and cut-offs of each school (ie you must have a gpa over 2.75 to have a secondary application sent to you). Though, it doesnt have any stats for average matriculant/applicant gpa and MCAT.

Thank you in advance. This site is great.

No such resource exists. It may be helpful to check out the web sites for each of the schools you are interested in.

OH HOW WRONG YOU ARE MY FRIENDS!!!! Such as resource exists and IT or should I say HE is called Chocolate Bear. Check out his signature. He'll post her soon enough.

The link in cbears signature is the CIB the OP spoke of. He/she is looking for more specific data that the CIB does not provide. I originally thought the same thing you did and was getting ready to post the link.

OP, for average stats youll need to check out each individual schools website for any RELIABLE information (dont use any other circulating websites and for gods sake dont use MDapps)

This should be a helpful read, since you already have the CIB. It comes out Tuesday.

I have the previous edition, which isn't as comprehensive or user friendly as the MSAR, but it's the only book I've seen to list DO school stats. There may be others, and if you find one, tell us what it is!

True, but you are talking about the first edition, right? I'm curious to see how many schools are in the new one.

I would doubt it has the new ones..only because its still the best '168' med schools, not the best '170' med schools.

LOL!

a) I didn't even think about them changing the name

b) I wonder if they would change the name, even if they did add some schools...

True. Thanks for the help guys.

and also thanks to Chocolate Bear for the links below your signature, especially the screening listings.
