I was told that the trend is to try and keep MSPE letters as concise as possible, and that 1 page is a good start. After looking at the AAMC article on MSPE (http://www.aamc.org/programs/eras/schools/resources/downloads/mspeguide.pdf), it seems that 1 page would be impossible. How long of an MSPE do you guys find to be the avg? I have a lot of additional stuff that I would like to have included.

I have no idea how they do it elsewhere, but at my medical school this was pretty much standardized. We didn't have much input other than a brief meeting to double-check accuracy and help the dean establish a three-sentence summary/commentary. Mine was somewhere between 1-2 pages. Most of this extra stuff would probably be better placed on your ERAS app, which is more of a 'resume'-type document than the MSPE.

This was exactly how my med school did it as well. I gave my MSPE writer a copy of my CV so that they could write a marginally personalized introductory blurb about me, but that was it. I had almost ZERO input into the actual content of the letter itself.
