Hey guys. I just got the email acceptance from Kelli. 😀 I got it at 6:20 pm so apparently they are random and they are personalized. I interviewed on Nov. 2nd. Good luck to you all!!!

CONGRATS! I interviewed before you and nothing yet 🙁 But I'm keeping the hope! It's my first choice. I bet something about Sinai will come up in my dream tonight... haha...

I interviewed there the first day, too, and just called the admissions office this afternoon to ask what's up. I was told that both interviewers have to come to the admissions meeting at the same time for the committee to make a desicion, and that hasn't yet happened with me. It's possible many people are in the same position and that's why we haven't yet heard anything. They told me I have another TWO WEEKS before I'll hear anything! Good luck to all of you!

aaah that sucks, maybe i'll call them tomorrow to find out what the deal is.

🙂 I got the email too, also after 6 PM. I have a feeling they will continue tomorrow. Good luck and congrats to everyone!

while all the MSSM enthusiasts are congregating on this thread, mind telling me what exactly impressed you about MSSM? The only thing that mildly interested me that day was the fact that the group of applicants I was with seemed more diverse than any other group I've been in. I mean, they barely looked like premeds!! 😱

Did any of you stay with student hosts?

I stayed with a student host. The one who I spent the night with had to go to an activities meeting for one of the groups he's in, so I spent a few hours with another student. Both seemed to really enjoy the school.

My overall impression of Sinai was very positive, and I can definitely see myself there and happy for four years. It is hard to pick one thing that makes the difference as I've visited 9 schools, so am usually only left with a general impression of how I felt I'd fit. However, a few of the things I like about Sinai are as follows (note: I am not implying that these attributes are exclusive to Sinai):

1. Location - manhattan, one block from the park ... I mean come on! What more could you want?

2. Classes start at 10 am ... perfect for me.

3. True Pass/Fail ... no honors or high pass until year three.

4. The apartments. They are spacious, nice, cheap, and I am looking for a med school where everyone lives in the same place. The better to get to know your classmates.

Hope that starts to answer your question. I'm sure there is more, but nothing that I can think of right now. However, if you have any specific questions that I may be able to answer let me know.

Aside from its prime location, I didn't see anything that made MSSM stand out from the other schools. Don't a lot of other schools have P/F grading, nice housing for students, etc.? I'm not even sure its location in Manhattan is a plus for me. I stayed with a student host too, and I didn't like the apartment style housing. It wasn't too shabby, but it could be cleaner/newer. Of course, I am probably also OCDing. My student hosts weren't bad, but they didn't seem terribly enthusiastic about their school...in fact, during the night I heard them complaining dreadfully about several classmates and their upcoming test...I guess I just didn't have a good experience there...I will definitely go to their second look though, if I'm lucky enough to get in! Congrats to all of you who've heard back 👍

I also interviewed on the first day and got the email just before 6PM yesterday. I know the decision was supposed to be in the subject line, but when I saw "Offer of Admission" I just thought it said "Office of Admissions". Looking forward to meeting everyone (although I must have met a lot of you on interview day)!!

Wow a lot of us on here interviewed the first day in that small group, hopefully I will hear something today. Good luck to everyone else.

Oh Mount Sinai, where art thou?

I know it's in Egypt but that's besides the point 😛

nothing here...maybe they're coming in waves?

I'm watching this thread closely too. I have a friend who interviewed the same week I did (11/10-11/14) but hasn't heard yet, so I'm hoping that more good news will be coming around soon.

Yeah :laugh: ... my internet still only works intermittently thanks to the aftereffects of Hurricane Wilma, and as soon as I posted that I realized my mistake, but couldn't get back online until now.

interviewed first day, still haven't heard yet, probably not positive?

Oh man.. I'm in the same boat, except I interviewed a bit later. But people who interviewed after me have been hearing. How did you think your two interviews went anyway? How did you interact with Kelli and the students? The tour guides? Was everything cool that day? Plus, in your case it has been almost 6 weeks, so you should at least hear something. Maybe they ran into problems which are delaying decisions?

i'd say my interviews were good but not fantastic and interaction with students and kelli was definitely positive, waiting is rough, especially because if we don't hear today we probably won't hear until monday because of thanksgiving. aaah, good luck!

Have you tried calling? They are open to status checks M & W between 2-4. I'm going to call today just to see...good luck!

I think it's a good idea to call too ... mayne both of your interviewers weren't available for the committee meeting or something. Goodluck!

You're my boy blue!!

Has anyone called them today? What do they tell you?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edit: nevermind, just called them. They closed at 2pm today and will reopen on monday.
Anyone?
Same here... do you think that means they're just holding off sending the waitlist until a later date, or there's still a chance?
i'm hoping it means that our interviewers weren't both able to make the committee meeting, but that's just my guess.
Yeah, I hope so too. But the thing is, the only people who have heard (as far as I know) are the ones that have been accepted. I don't think anyone who got waitlisted heard yet...
DIdn't someone say a 2nd round of acceptances would be emailed this week or next? Did they give an exact date?
One of my buddies just got a letter today and was put on the waitlist. I guess it's started... 🙁
oh :scared: . When (approximately) did he interview?
I swear, someone deleted their old post about how MSSM was sending out more acceptances next week.
He interviewed mid October - I think the week of the 17th.
