Canadian schools aren't rolling...everyone finds out in may...im hoping for some movement...been on the canadian waitlist since mid october also 🙁
 
I have been complete since the end of July and have heard nothing. I was accepted to some other schools but MSUCOM is my number one choice and I really don't want to go anywhere else...at this point I'd really just like them to tell me I've been rejected.🙁
 
Does anyone know if the orientation is in Lansing no matter what campus your assigned? I know the white coat ceremony is in Lansing for everyone just wasn't sure about orientation.

This is how I understand it:
12th East Lansing orientation
13th sites Orientations, at the assigned sites
14th White Coat Ceremony in East Lansing
17th first day of classes

I was placed at the DMC...but I'm almost postive people are gonna be dropping/moving around. Make sure you let them know that if movement does go on to place you at the DMC! You can email Katie Molina to ask..she's super awesome and helpful.

DOes anyone know what the status is on the 3 campuses? Are any full? Sending in my preference for DMC tomorrow and just want to know what my chances are! Thx

From the comment above looks like DMC is full because they were placed at Macomb when DMC was their first choice. It's still early though so I'm sure eventually you will get your first choice if not now 🙂

I asked the same thing when I talked to an adviser, and she said that everything has to be new the second time around or they won't consider your application because they want to see that you "visibly improved" from the first time.

I think it's a bit disappointing. I for example still wait to hear results and if they let me know in January-I'll have just a few months to 'visibly impove' that is not really feasible🙁

Oh I know. I gave them until November before I took any serious action to "visibly improve" anything. Because you work so hard up until then and as time goes on, time gets shorter, and you have to be ready to jump right back in it as much as that seems awful because you just don't know where you'll be in June next yr. And you're right, it's totally ridiculous if you don't hear back from them until April even and by then you have maybe 3 months to do anything. Which is impossible. Haha sorry for the rant, this med school dance is the best of times and the worst of times for everyone.

haha I agree! and just hope this whole period ends up being nice memory for all of us :shrug:

i know right? :annoyed: :bang: :wtf: i've been complete for what is going on 6 MONTHS now with no word! I'm an in-stater with really not that bad of stats either - i wish i knew what the issue was! 🙁 🙁
 
Does anyone know if the genetics and biochem requirements are required to have a lab?
 
It can't be a requirement because I took both genetics and biochem without the labs and was accepted recently 🙂

@runawaycar09 & mlkl: It was just an outright acceptance I received, awesome news. I got the email Dec. 19th while at work, had to stifle my joy hah
 
When you are wait listed is it automatic acceptance for the following year if they can't fill you in this cycle?
 
I knew it would take awhile but I really thought I would hear something by now, even if it was wait-listed or rejected.

I know that DrMeows is also waiting to hear something. How many others also, have not heard a single word since being complete? And when were you complete?

I was waitlisted this morning also, after being placed on hold on 10/31 for my fall grades which I submitted 12/19 (all 4.0s), originally complete on 10/22.

Sci. GPA: 3.75
Non-sci. GPA: 3.77
MCAT: 25
Non-trad with lots of EC's/volunteer work.

I was waitlisted much earlier on, it didn't say anything about guaranteed admission for next year and there is only ONE wait list.They're not doing that anymore (said the adviser I spoke with)

Mine is called an "alternative offer" as well, and I imagine so is everyone else's who Was wait listed. There's only one wait list (I was told by the director of admissions and an adviser) so we're all on it and it's not as a guaranteed for next year kind of deal. Unless of course it explicitly says so in your email, and in which case I was lied to. Twice haha

Mine was also called alternate offer-I thought it might be something different too but no-there is only one wait-list :nod:

Yeah I've been complete since 11/19. When I saw others here who were complete on that date, I thought I would also hear something back but nothing. Now, folks who were completed in December are receiving offers. I'm getting kinda nervous since two other DO schools apparently had my application "partially processed" so that the system told me I was complete, but to admissions committees I was not, and they couldn't view my file. I am hoping that this is not the case since I hand delivered every document. Hopefully everyone who hasn't heard back gets in soon. 🙂

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about because I was complete the first week of September and I believe DrMeows was complete before me. I wonder if its ok to call and ask.

Yeah I was complete end of July :bang: There's no hurt in calling, I bet they will just tell you your file hasn't been pulled yet....that's what they keep saying to me :annoyed:

So when I call I just ask the status of my application? I don't want to sound rude or arrogant.
