I've only considered applying to MSU recently, but from what I hear, I am being slightly discouraged from doing so.

*I am from Ohio. Are they really selective for in-staters?

*Are their secondaries a huge pain?

*The most expensive osteopathic school at almost 38K per year (out of state). Really, is this school going to be so much better than any others that I would go far deeper into debt to go there?

I realize that money ain't a thang, and I'm not afraid of extra effort. I just don't want to apply to schools unless I am genuinely interested in going there.

"so, why do you want to go here?"

"uhh, just applying to a bunch of schools to maximize my chances of getting in. Your school is actually far from the top of my list..."

(I don't have my MCAT score yet.)

Thanks for all input. I also welcome all (positive and negative) impressions of the school.

check out aacom.org. they select no less than 80% in state. The class is 125 spots or so and they usually end up with 10-15 out of state students.
