F Well I have a concern choosing between the two and I find it slightly in favor.of going the DO route. What would you guys choose? I think that since it is their first year that the negatives of this ultimately make going to MSU the better route.

It depends on what you see yourself doing. If you are very interested in rural medicine then CMU is developing its program around that mission. MSUCOM on the other hand is a great program that is known for its primary care mission but I have known friends/colleagues that have gotten into competitive specialities. So suffice it to say it depends on what you want. We can't really help you and I have a feeling this thread is going to become another MD vs DO thread...which is completely pointless.

Well they seem to have similar outcomes. I am not trying to do an MD vs do but I am curious why anyone would choose cmu over msu. The advantages for msu are directly obvious. And I believe both schools have an imperative to train general practicioners to go out rurally. I just want to see thoughts why people would choose cmu. Is it just because of the positives of it being its first year?
