I have another dilemma. I was hoping you guys could shed some light on things about these two schools that might not be obvious to help me make a decision. I was also curious if anyone knew about the block exams at TUCOM with regard to how many exams during a block, how long the exams are, and do you feel prepared going into a week of straight exams? Please let me know asap! Thanks ahead of time!

Depending on the year you're in, you will average 8-10 exams a week during the exam week. There are more exams at the last exam week of the semester (13 exams in May once). Exams are usually given a 2-hour limit but exams under 30 questions long are usually only 1 hour long an exams over 75 questions are usually 3 hours long.

You might also want to consider that MSUCOM is a public school and TUCOM is a private school. Also consider the mid-west vs. west coast locations.

You make a good point, but being an out of state resident, MSUCOM being a public school does nothing. Between the two, I would have to pay a lot more at MSUCOM. I'm not really sure what to do. I wish a school like MSUCOM was in the Bay Area!

It is not in the Bay area...... sorry about that.

MSU is prob... the #1 Osteopathic Medical School in the country. Of course UNE, would have to be second by default.

Does MSUCOM being the #1 Osteo School make that much of a difference?

MSUCOM is considered the #1 Osteopathic Med School? Wow, that's new, cool! but still new info.

OP -
Consider this, the ave stats for TUCOM are really high, far higher than most other DO schools, so if you have a chance for TUCOM-MI then you have a chance for MSU as your stats will be comfortable. However, MSUCOM runs pretty fast and the class gets pretty full by the end of the year, so you should consider that too.
If you've got the funds to do the application, about $50 each for the primary and secondary, and you might want to go, you should give it a chance. That's all you can really ask for in this process, a chance.
Best of luck! 👍 :luck:
