Much stronger letter coming later in the summer - can I update applications already under way?

My letters completed this spring will suffice, but it's likely I'll have a VERY strong letter this summer after completing research work at a top tier Medical School. Is there any way to send that along with secondaries or update the schools I will have already applied to?

You should be able to add them to your AMCAS app and then send them to the schools you want through there, otherwise you would have to contact the schools you want to send it to and ask how they would accept your letter.

1) The AMCAS letter service is wholly separate from the AMCAS primary application
2) You do not need letters for your AMCAS primary application to be submitted, verified or transmitted
3) Letters added to AMCAS after submission can be assigned to schools and will be transmitted in one business day
4) Letters are needed at the schools for your application to be marked complete and move on in processing
5) You can assign the letter to a school without the letter being submitted to AMCAS. That will likely stop processing on application until letter is received. You can assign the letter later but your application may be in processing and the letter may not be considered at that point

Would you recommend that I store my letters through Interfolio or through my school's preprofessional file? I'm gonna need a committee letter so I'm leaning towards both. What would you recommend though?

If you are getting a committee letter, then you follow what the committee wants. You do not, repeat, do not need to follow or submit any individual letters. The committee letter removes all specific letter requirements

Ah OK. I think my school's pre-professional system will send the letters to AMCAS on their own

You will get a SINGLE committee letter that you will make a SINGLE AMCAS letter entry for. Your committee will have all the letters attached to the SINGLE entry.

How would I "get" the committee letter? Like, they'll email it to me? Or will they send it to Interfolio and then I send it to AMCAS?

Sorry, not fully aware of how LORs work. Will be getting and submitting next year (2020)

Yes - I get the committee letter process and they are doing this. But getting back to my original post question,

How do I do this? Send these school by school or through AMCAS? Thank you for your helpful replies!
