Multiple LORs and personal statement

Hello, I am still a medical student and won't be entering the match before 2015, but I do have a question in mymind about the ERAS:
Does an applicant supply only 1 personal statement and same LORs for all programs? Or he can have mltiple personal statements for different programs if he is applying for more than one thing? (For example applying to rads or EM but also applying for IM as backup plan) because I find it inconvenient to have the same personal statement for all programs

You can mix and match; you just need to make sure to assign the right PS or LORs to the right program. It's not uncommon for people applying for competitive fields like plastics or ortho, etc. to apply to something else as backup.

Moving thread to ERAS where this is more appropriate.

You could send a different PS to every different program if you really felt like it. Sure would be a lot of extra work, though. 😀
