Has anyone heard anything from MUSC? I know their application deadline was November 15th, but I haven't heard back anything at all and wanted to see if anyone had heard something yet.

are you IS or OOS?

OOS tend to hear a little later
also if you did submit November then probably you wont hear until January

Just got my interview invitation this morning, so excited! Good luck everyone!

I applied to MUSC as well but haven't received an invitation for interview. Anyone else in the same boat?

I also applied to MUSC and haven’t heard back yet. I applied pretty early too, I believe in September.

I know four others who applied as well and only one heard back about the interview. Which is weird because most of them I believe will get an interview. I'm not sure how they are selecting it but I believe there is still hope!

I submitted my app in October so not that early.

I feel like first priority is given to instate students, since MUSC is the only OT program in South Carolina. I’m out of state so I truthfully do not think I will hear back until after the new year.

I applied just before the deadline but haven’t heard back yet. Fingers crossed for all!

How are they notifying people about interviews? I'm so nervous! I'm checking my email like crazy!

Are you interviewing in the Jan or Feb slot?

How did you find out that there are only 35 spots left?

I'm interviewing in February! What about you?
I picked Jan 26, I can let you know what it's like then. It's the longest interview I've heard of for an OT program. 8:30am to 4pm seems a bit much

When they send you an invite they send a link for you to pick a time slot of the 2 options to interview which are 1/26 or Feb 9th I think and it says how many slots are left for each and even the names of the people who have accepted. I just checked and there are still 29 slots left so dont give up!! People have until 1/2 to accept the interview so there could be people who dont accept and they will offer more invites then

That would be great! Yeah I am a little nervous just because it's soooo long. Good luck on your interview though!

Thanks, you too! I will keep you posted on what to expect! My other interviews were only 3 hours tops so my guess is there will be a writing portion

Hi guys! For those of you who received an invitation to interview, would you mind sharing your stats? I am applying next year and would like to learn what type of applications they offer an interview to. Thank you, congratulations! :)

Just got an email I was put on an alternate list for an interview slot. Looking at it as a denial, but just wondering if any one else got that email today?

Have heard absolutely nothing. I e-mailed Alice and she wasn't able to provide any information other than that interviews are offered on a rolling basis, and that they're conducted late January to early February. My application was submitted basically a day before the deadline but I feel like I should have heard something by now considering the first round of interviews start tomorrow. I'm essentially considering this a denial.

Nope there was 3 interviews 15 minutes long separated by 20 minute breaks, 2 with professors and one with a clinician. The rest was a 2 hour tour, orientation and a q and a. Good luck!

Any tips??
Yes, be prepared for either doing your interviews in the first half before lunch or after lunch in second half. Also ditch the heels and wear comfortable shoes and clothes to match the weather because the tour is literally 2 hours of walking the campus inside and outside up and down stairs, you will be glad you did. The interviews are one on one and the questions were more situational, just relax give yourself a moment to hear the question and then answer, all my interviewers were friendly and easy to talk to. Everyone their seemed to really go an extra step to make you feel welcome. Also, I always bring a water bottle and a snack in my purse and to warn you, there is no coffee during lunch and only sweet and unsweetened tea or lemonade so if you want one bring one in a bottle in your purse. Good luck, it was a good experience, be prepared to mingle with a lot of other candidates and for a long almost 8 hour day, just be yourself and good luck!:)
