Okay I was nearly 100 % sure that muscles were grouped this way:

Skeletal: striated and multinucleated

cardiac: striated and mononucleated

smooth: no striation and mononuceated

DATqvault says that cardiac muscle can be multinucleated ?!?!?!😕

Can someone please try and clear this up for me. Thank you.

Cardiac muscles are not always mononucleated. They can have more than 2 nuclei sometimes, just not as many as skeletal muscles.

I thought I remember it said, it could have ONE or TWO for cardio, that being said. It should be mono or multi. 🙂

My dads anatomy book from med school says that Cardio is mono nucleated, but wikipedia says cardio can have more than one nuclei. I do not think there is really a straight answer. I would assume that it is "mostly" mononucleated but be aware that it could have more than one in case this would be directly tested. Other than that I do not really know what to say.
