Do all insertions and deletions result in mispairing? If not, how does the sequence fix itself so that mispairing does not occur?

in vivo, probably does result in mispairing all the time. for no mispairing, after an addition or deletion, the change in frame must be exactly the same as before the addition or deletion.

in vitro, you might have a DNA sequence that is all AAAAAAAAA so addition or deletion may do nothing.
