If you got accepted to both schools, where would you go??? why?

I was accepted to both, and I chose MWU. Different people will have different reasons for choosing one or the other.

My biggest concern with NYU was the class size being huge, it has around 240 students, making it I believe the dental school with the largest class size, compared to which MWU will have 110. I have friends that go to NYU, and they all complain about the class size being too big, and the students don't get as much attention in their classes and clinics.

My biggest concern about MWU was well, its a new school, and it is the 1st year. I got over this fact after hearing very good reviews about the basic science classes they have for their DO and Pharmacy school, that the professors go beyond expectations to help students succeed. That same basic sciences program will be used for the dental program as well. Also they are getting a good group of dental professors, so I am excited for that. Also the accredidation issue with MWU bothered me, but someone posted that they got their initial accredidation, which basically means that the school is basically now accredited, they'll get their final accredidation when our class graduates. So no one can argue about MWU's accredidation issues now.

In terms of facility, I thought NYU's facility was very nice. MWU is currently building their dental facility, however with over $100 million going into it, I believe it will be one of the top facilities in the country.

NYU is a more established program vs MWU. As the inaugural class, it is true it will have some kinks in the way. If your not the person that can't handle that, then I'd suggest NYU. With that being said though, I don't think there is any dental program in the US that is perfect, every dental school has one issue or another they are weak in, and will need improvement.

I also did hear a signifcant amount of people from NYU are either kicked out or dropped out, to make room for the international students. MWU being an inaugural class, it will be an oppurtunity that wont come always. Since we will be the 1st class, MWU will do whatever it takes to graduate everyone in our class on time, to set their reputation up. Again, this goes back to MWU's attention they give on their students.

Factoring in living, NYU living is expensive, while Arizona is a lot cheaper, although I will admit, I've heard NYU throws some really fun parties for the dental students, well its cause its New York, haha.

NYU is a brand name school, while MWU isn't, well its mostly because it is new. So I would go to NYU if name of a school is important to you.

I could go on, but yeah, I hope this helps.

Oh yeah one more thing to compare, NYU has a NICE cafeteria, while MWU I thought their cafeteria needed a lot of improvement, haha. FYI.

I'd pick MWU I'd rather live in AZ than NY, personally.

what are your stats?

i thought you guys would shoot for NY than glendale, AZ not hat its a bad place, but seems boring.

New York is the more exciting of the two to live in, however the class size in New York is always something to be cautious of. Its very easy to get lost in a class of 100, i could only imagine what it would be like with 200.

I believe that the facilities at MWU will be as good as they get, if not better than NYU.

I don't quite understand the fear of the large class size of NYU... are people scared of waiting forever for a clinic supervisor to sign off their plans? I hear NYU has a pretty reasonable student to faculty ratio in clinic so that shoudln't be a problem. I dont understand the reasoning of being scared of "falling through the cracks" either... will NYU accidentally forget to print you a copy of an exam, and you subsequently aren't able to take the test and then fail the course, thereby falling through the cracks in this manner? (sarcasm) I hope that with a little self motivation people who are not doing as well in their courses would take the initiative to seek extra help... and not have the faculty knocking on their door asking do they want some cheese with that w(h)ine of theirs?
