First of all, I'd like to congratulate all of the members of this forum who have made it into dental school. Your hard work definitely paid off!!!

My GPA in my 1 yr of undergrad b4 pharmacy: 3.93
My cumulative GPA after my 5 years of schooling: 3.06
My science GPA after my 5 years of schooling: 3.12

My DAT (American) which i completed on November 15th, 2009:
-TS: 23
-AA:22
-RC: 22
-PAT: 19
-QR: 19

I am a Canadian who applied to: NYU, University of Detroit Mercy, BU, Tufts, and Temple. My application was completed and sent towards the end of October.

My application status is listed as being under review with NYU (Jan 26), BU (Nov 30), Tufts (Oct 22) and Temple (Nov 6). I called UDM last week to confirm my application was complete just last week. BU updated my supplemental materials section on Jan 21. When I called NYU and UDM, they both said my stats were competitive.

I've been working as a pharmacist since September 2008 and I now know I want to pursue dentistry.

I have not heard anything from any school yet. How are my chances looking? If you're in the same boat as me please share your story.

Taking the DAT fashionably late comes with a price. Being an international applicant does not help and neither does the 3.06/3.12.

You only did 1 year of undergrad before entering pharmacy school? Is it different up in Canada because you usually need a 4 year Bachelors from undergrad and 4 year of PharmD here in the states.

yeah it's a little different here. I did a total of 5 years of post secondary education. I'm 24 now and I've been practicing for a year and a half 🙂

I like the job because I'm a social person, but as a dentist I know I'd be able to have more of an interpersonal relationship.

I'm still remaining modestly optimistic because my info on AADSAS for NYU changed from "awaiting additional info" to "under review". If I am not fortunate to get in this year, I shall apply sooner next year and apply to a few more schools 🙂
