I'm applying to several colleges including a few safeties but what I would consider to be my target is HPS and NYUAD.
I'm taking a gap year and applying next year because there are two things that i'm really passionate about that I never got to do because of school being so hectic.
I'm doing this internship with UNICEF and WHO from January-May and Am running this soup kitchen...
Ok, back to business.
My HS transcript from 9-12th is all A+'s. And It's the best school in the country so it's very competitive (the school report is very impressive if it matters).
But my 11th grade Board results (It's a standardized test here in Pakistan), I did horrible.
I'd like to know if this will affect my chances badly even if the councilor is addressing it in her report as well?
I'm sitting for the ACT in december. Hoping for a 34 but can't really say right? Studying from Barron's ACT, ACT 36 and Barron's Math, Reading and English workbooks.
SAT II Bio M : 800; Physics: 800; Chemistry :780; Math I: 790; Math II: 770; Literature: 770.
My main extracurriculars are:
I was the Secretary General of the GCU Environmental Conference, 2012(www.gcuec.com)
I cofounded a science magazine called PLASMASCIENCE and remained COO for almost 2 years.
I was assistant Secretary of the Environment Protection Society
I organized a campaign as an inaugural for the international year of forests (2011) in which 10'000 trees were planted
I have about 800 hours of shadowing experience under a general surgeon and an OB/GYN.
I'm going to be interning under the Chief of UNICEF, Nigeria from Jan 13 to May 13 during the polio and lead poisoning campaign.
I was the Ambassador of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Research Center to my School for the Year 2011.
I headed the Healthcare awareness wing of ASSET, a local NGO.
I've participated and staffed in about 8 MUN conferences.
I don't require aid and am Pakistani (ethnically, half Turkish half Malaysian).
I have very good teacher recs as well.

And I didn't go to places like college confidential for this because I thought there's more people here who're in college or have graduated from college.
