is 2.4 when i graduated. I really slacked off since being a business major and network administraton as a career is totally different. All the finance and accounting classes i had to complete to graduate really brought down my gpa because i had zero interest in it.

anyhow now i want to get into optometry school because i am really interested in it. i still have a lot of prereqs to complete so hopefully there is a chance there. i still have the 1 year of bio, 1 year of chem and 1 year of physics. but is there a chance for me getting in to opt school with that low of a gpa. specifically scco.

Thanks for all the replies, you guys are all very helpful..

With a GPA that low, you have almost no chance.

However, if you do well in your optometry prerequisites then they may calculate a different GPA using your prerequisites only. If that GPA is stellar, and you do well on the OAT, then you have a reasonable chance of getting into most schools.

If you have a very good last 60 unit GPA and a very good pre rec GPA along with great OAT's it is possible. Just do everything you can do get good grades and good experinces in the optometric field, and I know you will make it. Determination and a will to never give up goes a long way. Don't give up....you can do it. 🙂 👍
