My current stats - how are they?

Hi! This is my first post on SDN. I am a 4th year Canadian student studying at the University of British Columbia currently, but I am open to applying to both Canadian and American schools for the 2016 DMD/DDS Class.

With my current stats, what schools would you suggest I apply to? What can I improve on?
My first choice would be to go to UBC Dentistry, but I would like some other options as well.

GPA: 76% (79 with worst year dropped)
Science GPA: 74%
DAT: 21 AA, 23 PAT/Carving, 21 RC

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Did you get a UBC interview this year? To be in the safe range, your GPA has to be above 84/85%

Post your GPA on 4.33 scale and we can then give you an idea about your chances etc...

Also right now, its too late to apply to American schools...I am sure many others would agree...so the only option you have is to apply in the next cycle..assuming you have a good GPA...

Yeah true...but she is a Canadian. As an international student, its a bit harder...
Looking at some cases on Sdn, I realize that schools might prefer a higher GPA than DAT.
People have got like 3.33 in their undergrad and 4.0 in grad school and still have trouble getting in when you are an international student...

I would recommend just apply and see what happens...apply to schools which have taken students with your stats...
Otherwise also try and enroll in a master's or graduate program now and try to bring your GPA up...

If that is your Canadian GPA, then your AADSAS GPA will be higher...it could be around 3.4-3.5 so make sure that you're doing the conversion...there is a gpa scale on the aadsas website
