My favorite slide from lecture so far this year:

is this real? Is this 0.05% prob of mortality if you visit MD compared to 0.0025% if you visit DO. That is interesting.

It supposedly was the mortality rate of uncomplicated influenza during the 1918 pandemic. 5% of MD's patients and 0.23% of DO's patients.

yea, I want to see a slide next to that one of the number of DO's vs. MD's in the country at the time of the epidemic.
 
I posted the slide as a joke guys, I thought it was silly.

If you really want to know, the sample size of DOs was 2,445 with the # of their patients being 110,122 (257 deaths). The other mortality rate is actually stated to be "the most conservative mortality rate for influenza under medical care", which would include MDs and DOs I assume. In that case, the mortality rate of MDs patients would actually be higher. In any case, I just thought the slide was goofy.
