Do you plan on applying out of state? If so, where?

I figured I'd apply to 11 OOS (6 DO & 5 MD) schools since there's 11 total in Texas. I just have no clue where to apply. My GPA is not the best, so I'm trying to keep my options open. I have friends who were not accepted in Texas at all but were accepted out of state, so that's where they went.

Hello, fellow Texan. I am not applying anywhere OOS. In fact, I'm so disinclined to fill out an additional primary, I may not even apply to Baylor. I think as a Texan with a below average GPA, you're going to have to be very strategic with your OOS MD school choices. If I were forced to apply OOS, I would target the historically military friendly schools. Maybe you can ask your friends what they did, especially if any had similar stats. Good luck.

Why Military friendly schools?

I actually know what schools they were accepted into, so I'm definitely going to apply to those.

I scored a 522 on my MCAT, so I am applying OOS too. Posting your stats is the best way to get feedback from people.

Look at the MSAR - identify schools that have previously accepted applicants from Texas and may be receptive to your stats/story. I applied to all Texas public as well as several OOS schools and received interview invitations from both. Keep your options open until you have an acceptance letter in hand.
