Hello everyone.
Well I just got accepted to this clinical research involving placental study. Basically during a delivery of a child we collect the placenta and umbilical cord and run several different tests to understand the development of the fetus based on conditions of the mother. For example for one of the studies being conducted we compare the blood sugar levels of the mother and compare it to the GLP-1 concentration (in the umbilical cord) of the fetus to determine the relationship of a child's likeliness to develop diabetes. I get a lot of nurse and doctor interaction and even got to witness a c-section today.
Do you guys think this is a worthwhile experience and I should stick to it long term? Note: Im not getting paid. (Going into my third year in the fall)
