So my GPA's are all over the board and I'm trying to figure out either my LizzyM or at least narrow schools I'd have a shot at.

It looks like this..

3.03 cGPA
3.85 sGPA
3.88 post-bacc
3.5 cGPA last 120 hours.

How will schools view this? Should I average my science and cum? use my last 120 hours? go with post-bacc? I have no clue where I stand. @Goro @LizzyM ?? Any help would be great. Thx.

You can't and should "game" your numbers, because we see all of them, and the application forms have them calculated as cGPA, sGPA, gGPA.

In your case, we'll see that you have redeemed your past performance, and should be able to thrive in medical school. Now, just ace the MCAT!

Thanks so much for replying Goro.

That does shed some light on my situation. That said, I suppose I am still a bit unsure of where I should apply. I'm going to assume an average MCAT for the school in question here...

Obviously, my cgpa is non-competitive anywhere. Though I am about 8 years removed from my poor performance (non-trad here). My science GPA and post-bacc would make me competitive at top-tier programs. Again, assuming I get an MCAT that is about average for a top tier (or mid-tier) program, should I consider applying to a top/mid tier program? Or based on my cgpa, should I solely focus on lower tier and DO, not to imply they are below MD schools, their admission stats are just more forgiving..

Thanks!

Apply to any DO program (including mine), all new MD programs, and the low-tiers. Make sure you ace MCAT. Based upon posts here, there are MD schools that value reinvention. Among them are Tulane, Drexel, NYMC, Albany, Tufts, Case, and, for NY'ers, SUNY Upstate.

Also, contact Admissions deans to see if you're competitive.
