My journey so far and question..(predental)

So little bit of background.
Undergrad: UCSB Spanish major - most prereqs done science and bcp gpa:2.0 ogpa:2.53 130 unit
Postbac: Done: 73 Semester unit at 3.8 GPA. Second Bachelor in Cell Bio. Taking 5 science courses this fall.
DAT: Academic Average 22 (95.7 percentile)
So I only need to take 4 unit of class this coming spring 2013 to earn my second bachelor.Because of school location I've been spending +$1000 per month for rent and etc, which is huge deal for me. I applied this cycle and if I don't get in, I plan on continuing doing a formal postbac.
If I decide to take only 4 units, I can commute from my old house and save a lot of money on expenses.

my question is: is it ok to just take 4 units for this coming spring and fill it up with work and extracurricular until either I go to dental school or postbac?

The admissions committees that I have talked to for medical school say it really doesn't matter what you do as long as you can explain what you have done and how it pertains to completing your goal. I would guess it wouldn't look negatively to see that you lowered your credits because you only need 4 more credits for finishing the degree. Although I wouldn't put it past them on asking why you didn't plan correctly.

In short - long as you are doing some productive in the health field as full time, it's fine.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't want to ask the adcoms that the reason behind lowering courseload was to save money, and I thought it might affect me negatively, since they could think I can't afford dental school.

Adcoms are humans beings too =/ Their not all profit machining dream killers haha. At least the ones I talk to 😛
